The Greater Lakes Area Performing Arts (GLAPA) is a group dedicated to enriching local culture through performing arts. Since our inception, we have established a reputation of providing well-received, quality performances.

With performances set for each season, we find talent, and raise funds to underwrite programs. The GLAPA board is comprised of multi-community-based, volunteer members.

All of our performances are held in the Pequot Lakes High School Theater and tickets can be purchased online by clicking our link provided or by calling (218)568-9200.

OCTOBER 18TH - 20TH & 26TH -27TH
PERFORMANCES EVERY HALF HOUR FROM 6:00PM TO 9:30PM

Greater Lakes Area Performing Arts (GLAPA) bases their community theater and concert season on stage in Pequot Lakes at the Pequot Lakes High School Theater and has done so since 1983. Last winter, GLAPA was invited to partner with the Crosslake Area Historical Society to haunt the Historic Log Village of Crosslake. This new challenge in a different venue, creating and producing original work, is extremely exciting - and fun!

The Haunt
The Haunted Hallows of Crosslake . . . where things went horribly, HORRIBLY wrong! is not your average haunted house event. The inspiration for this haunt design grew out of the actual history of the Crosslake area although, as the title stipulates, things are not quite as they should be! Haunt guests will travel through time to visit spirits of past village inhabitants. Guests become part of the action, fulfilling the quest of the villagers to escape as the village school bell strikes 13. It’s all in good fun for the entire family. No zombies here! Wonky weird wonders from the 1800 and 1900s make their discombobulated presence known as they haunt Crosslake!

The Crosslake Area Historical Society makes sure your evening is complete with food trucks, campfires, and entertainment like face painting and fortune telling in the Village parking lot before and after your haunt experience.

Performances run every half hour from 6:00 PM till 9:30 PM. Performance dates are Thursday, Friday, Saturday October 18, 19, and 20 and again the following week Friday and Saturday, October 26 and 27. Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for age 10 and under. Tickets are available on site. The event takes place largely outdoors so be sure to dress for the weather.

Special Thanks
A cast and crew of 25 GLAPA volunteers bring the Haunt to “reality.” Special thanks goes to C.J. The dedication and donation of many days of work by the entire cast and crew on behalf of GLAPA deserves huge recognition and thanks as well.

The Haunted Hallows of Crosslake was designed with information gleaned from HauntCon 2018 held in New Orleans and attended by C.J. Anderson and Lauren Nickisch. This national conference is well known in the haunt world with presenters from Knott’s Scary Farm, Disney, and Six Flags among others. Decades of experience are distilled into four days of classes, workshops, exhibits, and mentoring including all aspects of haunting events from makeup and costumes to building designs and safety codes.
